Job DescriptionMetro State University, Minnesota?s public, urban university, and four-time recipient of the Insight Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award is seeking to hire Director of Marketing and Communications. This is a full-time permanent position within the Strategic Enrollment and Marketing Division.Job Responsibilities: The Director of Marketing and Communications provides advanced professional leadership and direction for institutional marketing and branding, program-specific marketing, and internal and external communications. This position serves as a senior level creative manager, manages and supervises the Marketing team and reports to the Vice President of Strategic Enrollment and Marketing.Minimum QualificationsThe following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:5 years professional marketing/communications experience2 years of supervisory experienceDemonstrated expert level and mastery of the Mac OS X operating system, Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC and Adobe InDesign CC, as well as confident and effective use of Adobe Bridge CC, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.Proven leadership of comprehensive marketing campaigns across multiple types of advertising such as outdoor, radio, digital, social media, email, web, and direct mail.Skilled in developing and maintaining a strong branding philosophy throughout all aspects of an institution and developing and implementing creative and effective marketing and public relations strategies.Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to serve a diverse workforce and student population in a positive, respectful manner at all times. Expert English language ability (verbal, written, and comprehension) sufficient to interpret laws, regulations, gather information, compose written correspondence, prepare written reports and communicated in a positive, proactive manner.Ability to maintain confidentiality, understand and implement data privacy laws.?Preferred QualificationBachelor?s DegreeExperience in a higher education institution and understanding of the student journey.Experience in using a Customer Relations Management (CRM) platform such as Slate for marketing campaignsExperience in marketing web strategyEvidence of the ability to manage and complete projects, prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously, attend to detail, anticipate office needs, and meet deadlinesProven leadership and management skills exercising initiative, resourcefulness, new technologies and marketing techniques;Experience developing and managing a short-term and long-term marketing plan and budget that maximizes the investment in reaching its targeted audiencesOther RequirementsPhysical Requirements of the Job: Individual must be able to move around at events, photo/video sessions and have the ability to transport themselves to Metro?s campuses across the Twin Cities. Must be able to lift and move boxes, equipment, photo backdrops, and event materials up to 20 lbs.Ability to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time, move to other offices and buildings for project planning and consultation.Notice: In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State?s vehicle use criteria and consent to a motor vehicle records check.Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)Monday ?
