About the Job:
The primary role of the Marketing Manager is to promote TAPPI membership, conferences, publications, and TAPPISAFE, and support marketing efforts for TAPPI’s Association clients as well as other product lines. This position will focus on developing and project management of multiple parallel campaigns for various product lines. The Marketing Manager will work closely with marketing leads to execute marketing, promotion and advertising activities. This position will utilize their expertise and experience to enhance and increase the effectiveness of campaigns and improve the member/attendee experience. These programs should increase awareness and event attendance, help grow membership and increase retention. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work within a small but effective team and be a self-starter who wants to transform ideas into success for the organization. This position will be required to handle the following key duties and responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Lead cross-functional teams to organize, execute and deliver marketing and promotions for multiple product lines (events, membership acquisition and retention programs, publications/media partners, PRESS products, TAPPISAFE, etc.).
-§ Develop strategies and identify effective tactics for multi-faceted marketing campaigns. Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously from conception to completion.
- Project manage marketing leads and weekly review of marketing plan execution for multiple product lines while managing timelines and budgets.
-Track and optimize online marketing programs designed to promote events, acquire members and customers via Paid Search Marketing (e.g. Feathr, ResearchGate), Natural (Organic) Search Optimization, Affiliate Marketing, Non-Financial Agreements, and Online Display Advertising.
- Oversee the marketing analytics, analyze results and make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of all online marketing campaigns, including event social media.
-Work with outside agencies and vendors on business requirements, delivery expectations, budgets and schedule.
-Collaborate with Association Management team to execute marketing strategies for multiple product lines for separate industry Associations outside of TAPPI.
-Support volunteer groups as needed with marketing recommendations and execution.
- Manage a pool of marketing leads/contractors to create promotional strategies and plans, execute marketing for events and membership generation, as well as related web projects and TAPPI product lines.
-Collaborate with internal teams to enhance website features, lead generation programs, and messaging platforms.
- Have extensive experience working in fast paced, deadline driven environments while delivering results.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· No direct reports for this position, but individual does work closely with and manage contractors.
Experience and Education
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Deadline and detail oriented.
-Bachelor’s degree or equal professional experience
- This role is hybrid, we require at least one day a week in office at our TAPPI HQ office in Peachtree Corners, GA.
Required Skills:
-Project management or account management experience
- Knowledge of digital marketing including Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social platform marketing
- Copywriting and copy editing experience
-Good written/verbal communication and excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities
- Solution-oriented, customer/member focused and highly proactive and self-motivated
- Experience in the Paper or Packaging Industry is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree with a good understanding of both traditional and digital marketing tactics
- Creative thinker and problem solver
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of time in a stationary position; typically, in front of a computer. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 75% of the time.
-Ability to move up to 25 pounds.
- Mobility onsite at conferences and within the office.
-Position frequently communicates with Volunteers.
