Led by the firm's first Chief Marketing Officer, the marketing function at Goldman Sachs (GS) has been fueled by momentum and an imperative to unify the discipline, codifying a business-critical function seen as core to the firm's future growth. As such, GS has built a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of key Centre of Excellence roles in areas such as Brand, Paid Media, and Content Marketing, as well as establishing marketing leads for each of our revenue divisions. Together, this team collaborates to build a unified, scalable, and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve.
Within the Global Marketing function sits the Asset Management Marketing team, responsible for end-to-end marketing strategies and programs for the entirety of the business. Working across public markets, alternative and external investing strategies, the team leads messaging strategy, content creation, digital marketing, and marketing analytics. A new Global Head of Marketing for Asset Management joined in early 2022.
Role Summary
This Vice President will play a key role as the Global Head of Marketing Operations within the Asset Management Marketing team, working closely with the Global Head of Content and Product Marketing, Global Head of Martech, and Global Head of Sales Enablement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the production and delivery of marketing and sales materials across entities, businesses, and regions. They will leverage best-in-class technology to optimize customer interactions with our products, streamline data/content production, and improve content value and utilization.
The ideal candidate will pair operational platform management experience with leadership and change management across marketing and business users to drive improved business outcomes.
Position Responsibilities
Marketing document publishing: Collaborate with content owners to produce and update marketing materials, including fact sheets, pitch books, commentaries, and other collateral. Working closely with sales advisors and product strategists.
Publishing capabilities: Lead publishing arm of the marketing technology stack. Assess and deploy best-in-class publishing capabilities based on marketing and sales value. Includes build vs buy decisions for publishing vendor(s). Lead publishing-related enterprise deployment.
Digital investment publishing: Manage/publish product content and data updates on websites and mobile properties.
Publishing data: Lead data process and integration for the purposes of publishing data-enriched content in partnership with AM Operations colleagues.
Digital/Website management: Partner with Martech and Sales Enablement teams to ensure effective deployment of product content and investment performance.
Sales and distribution enablement: Align with Sales Enablement to shape and support strategy to enhance efficiency and commercial outcomes, including close partnership with CRM lead.
Measurement and reporting: End-to-end reporting and measurement of impact, demonstrating clear MROI and taking active steps to adjust approach as necessary to optimize.
Risk management: Maintain strict adherence to regulatory and procedural guidelines for all marketing communications with a clear understanding of operational risk and alignment to relevant policies. Partnership to ensure FINRA and other regulatory processes are maintained.
Team effectiveness: Take an active role in sharing best practices for this key function across AM and Global Marketing.
Partnership and collaboration: Develop and maintain strong relationships with other AM Marketing leaders, Global Marketing partners, Corporate Communications, Compliance, Legal, sales and investment heads, and other key senior stakeholders across the global organization.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience within a similar leading financial institution, focused on content management or sales enablement capabilities (Such as Seismic or similar platforms), with an outstanding track record with measurable impacts and achievements
Strong knowledge of the asset management industry: clients, products, regulations, competitors
Experience of working with and delivering data heavy collateral either in a marketing or sales function to a regular update cycle
An understanding of all marketing mediums including digital, social and collateral
Competent at thinking proactively, not reactively with impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
Entrepreneurial nature, experience building a new or evolving team
Ability to lead, think, and influence beyond your immediate scope of work and span of control
Interest in investment views and markets with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and develop a clear, compelling story
Demonstrable track record of working effectively across matrixed, complex organizations with strong communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to engage with partners at all levels
Ability to work at varying speeds and under timeframe pressure, while maintaining extremely high standards
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
Salary Range The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
