Barnesville School of Arts & Sciences is seeking a dynamic individual to join our administrative team as Social Media & Web Specialist. This is a part-time, 12-month, salaried position based on a minimum of 20 hours per week with a daily presence on campus.
The Social Media & Web Specialist is responsible for developing, curating, and promoting compelling content to support the School’s enrollment and advancement goals. This position is instrumental in establishing a consistent “brand” voice and presence promoting our innovative programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and update the website ensuring consistency of brand story, aesthetic, and voice
Write, edit, produce, and publish outstanding digital content to fulfill the School’s marketing & communications editorial content calendar
Manage presence on social media networking sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked-in, YouTube)
Work with enrollment and advancement leads to create compelling collateral materials that support the School’s marketing, enrollment, and fundraising goals
Keep current on content marketing strategies, social media trends, and emerging communications technologies so appropriate content for digital outreach can be created
Make proactive suggestions for alternative or additional tactics
Maintain up-to-date job postings on the School’s website for recruitment purposes
Education and Experience: Qualified candidates will have at least a bachelor’s degree and will possess 2+ years of social media and website management experience, preferably with a non-profit, advocacy organization, or media outlet.
Skills and Characteristics:
Exceptional writing portfolio available for review
Proficient in MS Office, HTML, Java Script, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, iMovie
Ability to produce and curate content to manage all social media platforms
Basic photography and video skills required
Basic SEO knowledge required to manage outside vendor
Enthusiasm for the mission of the school and for working collaboratively with fellow faculty members

Physical Requirements: Daily desk work including computer time; as part of daily routines, mobility around a campus with uneven pavement and managing stairs; standing, bending and squatting as required to participate in classroom activities; shifting furniture as needed, lift/carry boxes up to 15 pounds; the ability to maneuver as necessary within a classroom or office setting; frequent walking inside and outside as part of general job duties.
