Characteristics & Skills
Characteristic or Skill
Summary of What’s Expected
Passion for Marketing
You demonstrate a clear understanding of - and passion for - the power of marketing, and the critical role it plays in company success. You can translate that energy into understanding for others, and success.
Proactive & self-motivated
You are a go-getter, and you do what it takes to be great. You have an inherent ability to prioritize, manage your time, and take action without being asked to do so, and encourage others around you to become self-starters as well. You’re willing to take some risks and adjust and refine based on the lessons you learn. You can be creative on a limited budget, make the case for a larger one, and step courageously into tackling challenges.
You’re solution-oriented, learning from the negative, but focused on the positive, and actively seeking solutions. You make it happen in ever-changing environments, and come up with creative options when others may be stumped. You have an ability to balance the focus on our customers’ needs with company needs, seeing the ‘big picture’ and thinking critically.
Your written and verbal communication is excellent. Whether you’re helping draft an email to send to our influencer network or crafting content copy, you know the importance of using impactful language – with the correct grammar and no typos.
While you can get it done autonomously without a hitch, you also anticipate the needs of your team and are able to hold people accountable without micromanaging them. You’re able to share your own highs and lows, speak your truth, admit when something’s not working, and work together towards success.
Detail-oriented & quality-focused
The little things matter to you; you notice minor discrepancies, the resolution of graphics, typos in copy, or things that aren’t quite right, and dig in to not only understand them but to resolve them. You don’t call a project done until it’s perfect & error-free, and strive to establish protocols to avoid repeating errors in the future.
You follow through on commitments, finish projects that you start, and over-deliver on expectations.
You love analyzing data & numbers and you use them to drive decision-making. You won’t hesitate to set up trackers, figure out ways to forecast (such as spend to return results) or engage in A/B testing, constantly refining methods to adapt to what’s proven to work.
Strong organizational skills
You’re highly organized and have a place for everything that can be interpreted and accessed by others. You’re not overwhelmed by shifting gears when needed or keeping track of multiple campaigns at once.
You plan ahead on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis to ensure commitments, deadlines, and campaign goals are met whether last-minute or long-term.
You are ready to figure out the back-end and explore emerging platforms beyond the standards, while you also show chops with the following: Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, Canva, Planoly (or similar), Zoho Marketing Hub, and Google Drive (particularly Sheets).
Bias and talent for automation
You live to automate manual internal processes and have the ability to build tools that streamline efforts and maximize the impact of our marketing efforts while maintaining our human-to-human customer service experience.
Open-minded & Endlessly curious
As part of our team in the emerging cannabis and supplement space, we are looking for someone who can adapt to the changing landscape and stay on top of trends with a genuine interest in the industry. You value your health, and exude a growth mindset personally and professionally, constantly enriching yourself through new opportunities to learn and develop. You’re conscious of your own impact and seek to leave a positive legacy.
